The Foyle Hotel has been in existence since 1819, when a "well-furnished, up-to-date hotel overlooking Lough Foyle" opened on the "famous Inishowen peninsula". Its first advertisement boasted offered "first-class accommodation" and — aside from the horse-drawn carts outside the door — these are the principles Brian and Brenda aim to follow to this day.
Reopened in June 2018, the entire building has been completely renovated and refurbished to create a boutique hotel offering 16 rooms designed to the latest standards of elegance and comfort.
Many of the rooms offer sea views over Lough Foyle, and each has benefited from Brian's attention to detail. The hotel's own brand of ground coffee is supplied in each room, complete with crockery designed by Moville Pottery, all duvets and pillows meet five-star standards of comfort, and the framed photographs of local landmarks on display in each room were taken by Brenda's sister Lynda Gamble Reception is open 24 hours a day, and Brian and Brenda pride themselves on one of the family always being available to welcome their guests on arrival.
Rooms are all en-suite with generous shower facilities, and offer flat-screen televisions, tea and coffee making facilities, complimentary toiletries, free high-speed wifi, hairdryer, ironing board and luggage storage space.
Each guest can enjoy a complimentary, cooked-to-order breakfast served from 7.30am-11.30am, and a late-checkout time of 12pm.
